About Us
The best way to know what we do is to see it! Here's some of a typical day at Yasminida Bali!
Principles before Profits!
There was little point in making eco-friendly products if they were to be corrupted by the typical practices of modern day businesses. As such, we're continuously working to put the things we care about at the fore front of what we do.

Passion
Bali is blessed with skilled, creative artists, wood-carvers and tailors and we are proud of the work from our growing team. Our work environment is one that works for both the company and our employees. We keep things warm, fun and light hearted, whilst making sure the quality and quantity of our production meets high standards.
"To succeed you have to beleive in something with such a passion, that it becomes a reality"
- Anita Roddick
Purpose
Our goal is to introduce simple practices that can be implemented in our daily lives. In a world where convenience readily available, each choice and action we make has a significant impact on our environment. We can’t change our habits overnight, but with small participation we can be a part of the solution.
"Earth is what we all have in common"
- Wendell Berry
Zero-Waste
All of our materials are used, one way or another. We also purchase scrap materials from fabric suppliers to be used. Anything that makes it to a waste bin is sent to a professional recycling company or turned into eco-bricks. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Replace, Repair, Refuse, Rethink and if you can’t do any of those, then give it someone who can!
"There is no such thing as ‘away’. When we throw anything away, it must go somewhere."
- Annie Leonard
Fair Trade
Extremely low-cost production means that the person who made your products must continuously struggle to support themselves and their families. We do not allow this to happen to our people. Our staff are our family. We are able to produce products at a great price point to local and international markets and insure our people have a healthy, rewarding job to come to each day. Anything less would simply not be right.
"Every time you spend money, you are casting a vote on the kind of world you want to make"
- Anna Lappé
Community
This is a land where in only the past 2 decades plastic has been introduced on a large scale. The mentality still beleives that if you throw something away, it is gone for good. The reality is much different and the beautiful ancient waterways of the subak system are now lined with rubbish from the mountains to the sea, where the beaches and the Island’s surrounding marine life are smothered in plastic waste. We work with our staff and the local village community (the banjar) to help spread education in plastic waste.
"The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members."
- Coretta Scott King
Local
We regularly get reminded that it can be cheaper to hire staff in Java, cheaper to source materials from other Islands, cheaper to get things made in China. Cheaper doesn’t matter. Our products are made by local people, from local materials. Our Bamboo is sourced from Jati Luwih, our fabrics from a range of local companies. We help our local communities to grow and in the process we don’t have to make such a carbon footprint.
"When you buy from a small business an actual person does a little happy dance"
- Unknown

Meet the Team
One of the keys to sustainability is knowing where your products came from and who made them.
Yasminida Muridan Perry
Founder & Director
"Hi, I'm Yasmin. I started Yasminida Bali in 2016, equipped with a second-hand sewing machine and a mission!
To prevent the use of environmentally damaging, single-use plastic products, there has to be sustainable alternatives.
As consumers we play a key role in protecting our future, through the purchasing choices we make. To make a difference, we have to make those choices easier!
We all must be more proactive in reducing our daily waste since our actions have massive impact on the forests, lands, oceans, our animals, the air we breathe, every part of our precious eco-system.
We produce all kinds of home and lifestyle products to accompany your daily activities and will continue to expand our catalog wherever we find a plastic problem we can help fix. We pay careful attention to every single product to make sure it is functional and sustainable. We buy our materials as close to home as we can, to reduce our carbon footprint, and support our local farmers and local artisans.
The majority of our products are made in house and we also work with local suppliers. Our goal is to help as many artisans as possible to create a sustainable local economy, with fair trade at the heart of our business. We find a way to make use of almost every material that comes in our door to help us achieve a goal of being completely zero-waste.
My personal commitment in making products is to help assist everyone’s transition to lead a more sustainable life. I believe that with the right tools for the job, we can all do this together."
